"The Last Patrol" - by Lance Russwurm, acrylic on canvas

This painting depicts the late Charles W. ("Charley" ) Fox, DFC and Bar (Flying VZ-F) and three other well known Spitfire pilots flying what must certainly be the last sortie of World War II. They left at the crack of dawn and landed at exactly 8:00 AM - when the war in Europe was officially ended.
