Home For Christmas

homeforchristmas.jpg

Another view of Northern 6167 at Kitchener during World War Two. The war was the last glorious "Hurrah" for steam and, indeed, for the railroads, as the major means of transportation in Canada.

Short sighted beaureaucrats gleefully dismantled large parts of our rail system and lent their support instead to automobiles and trucks. The Twentieth Century was the age of the automobile. In this new century, cracks are beginning to appear. We will probably have to eventually buy back some kind of rail system - at outrageous prices, naturally.
