Northern
Equally at home on freight or passenger trains, the 4-8-4 Northern Type locomotives were the largest in the Canadian National roster. The Railway had hundreds of them, and they served right until the end of steam, which, in Canada lasted until the end of the fifties. That is the tower of Kitchener Train Station in the background. The station still exists, but, alas! - the tower didn't survive sixties urban renewal. (Nor did much else in Kitchener, but that's another story!) Photo album created with Web Album Generator |
