"Home for Christmas" © 1996 by
Lance Russwurm A blustery December evening, 1944. At the C.N. station in Kitchener, Ontario, a hulking Northern Type locomotive sits, hissing and sputtering like a living thing. As other passengers come and go, a loving couple re-unites in a passionate embrace - the war in Europe suddenly forgotten. The young RCAF officer's tour of duty is over and they can resume their interrupted lives. They give silent thanks for his safe return - just in time for Christmas. |
