Murals & Trompe l'oeil

"Falconer" Mural by Lance RusswurmMurals have been an increasingly important part of my work over the last few years.  They are very popular these days - with good reason. There is absolutely no better way to draw media and public attention to your corporate, civic, or personal project.

A mural can turn a boring space into the fantasy world of your choosing, where imagination becomes reality.

If the location is good, a mural is highly visible from a distance, and, if properly applied, can last for many years, even in our Canadian climate. Indoors, of course, with quality materials,  murals can be permanent.

I often employ Trompe l'oeil techniques. The term is from the French, meaning: "Fool the eye". This is where I get to have great fun, painting things that appear to really be there, but aren't, and making objects painted on a flat wall appear to be 3-D.

I will play with perspective, viewpoint, colours and shadows - anything necessary to enhance the illusion.
