Nostalgia
Nostalgia always seems to figure prominently in my work. I guess I'm just an old fashioned romantic at heart. I love re-creating the elegance of the past. I hope you enjoy these images as much I did while painting them.

"Waterloo" ...an original acrylic painting by Lance Russwurm

"Waterloo"

What can I say? It's my home town. I grew up in this picture. We're looking down Albert Street from Erb Street. The old city hall (demolished in 1969) is in the left foreground. Next is the old fire hall, then the Waterloo Farmer's market. (demolished in 1964 to make way for the present Waterloo Public Library). On the far right is our original Carnegie Library ( amazingly, it's still there, currently the home of Habitat for Humanity).
